IC 572 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 376 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 55,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 3041 , IC 568 , IC 570 , IC 571 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on December 16, 1893 .
