NGC 3041 is an active barred spiral galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type SBc in the constellation Leo on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 59 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are among others. the galaxies NGC 3048 , NGC 3053 , NGC 3060 , IC 572 .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 23, 1784 .
