NGC 3028 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 172 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on March 23, 1835 .
