IC 592 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sbc in the constellation Sextant south of the celestial equator . It is estimated to be 263 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 60,000 ly.

The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on March 21, 1893 .
