IC 576 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 / a in the constellation Leo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 537 million light years from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years across.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3069 , IC 569 , IC 577 , IC 578 .
The object was discovered by Stéphane Javelle on January 27, 1892 .
