Ivan Alexejewitsch Telegin ( Russian Иван Алексеевич Телегин ; born February 28, 1992 in Novokuznetsk ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK CSKA Moscow in the Continental Hockey League since May 2014 .

Career

Ivan Telegin began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of Metallurg Novokuznetsk . For the 2009/10 season he went to North America and played for the Saginaw Spirit and Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League . The striker was already selected in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft as the 101st player by the Atlanta Thrashers . The Winnipeg Jets , the successor to the Thrashers, signed Telegin in July 2011. He spent the 2012/13 season in the American Hockey League with the St. John's IceCaps . In January 2014 Telegin returned to Russia for HK CSKA Moscow from the Continental Hockey League after the Winnipeg Jets suspended him due to a contractual dispute and after-effects of a concussion at the beginning of the 2013/14 season. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season , the loan deal that had existed since January was terminated and Telegin was taken under contract by ZSKA.

International

Telegin had its first international appearance at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2009 , in which the Russians placed seventh. For Russia , he also took part in the U20 Junior World Championships in 2010 and 2012 and won the silver medal with his team in 2012. At the 2016 World Cup , he and his team won the bronze medal. He was also a member of the Sbornaya squad at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey .

At the 2018 Winter Olympics , Telegin won the gold medal under a neutral flag.
