Ivo Bulanda

Ivo Bulanda (born October 23, 1932 - February 14, 2016 ) was a German documentary filmmaker and photographer .

Life

Ivo Bulanda studied singing and piano at the Karlsruhe University of Music and then discovered photography in the late 1950s. He first became known through a photo that showed the conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler in tailcoat and underpants, and later through the fact that he managed to attract famous world stars with charm and a certain audacity. B. Brigitte Bardot , Sophia Loren , Gina Lollobrigida or Curd Jürgens with products such as glasses, watches or beer in front of the camera. A successful “advertising coup” was that he succeeded in photographing automobile tycoon Henry Ford II with an NSU Quickly .

He later turned to moving images and made numerous films for ARD, ZDF and various industrial companies. Ivo Bulanda lived with his wife Ly (Ottilie), who accompanied him as an assistant on his film trips, in Beilstein , Baden-Württemberg , until his death . He died on February 14, 2016.

Awards
