Jörg Danielczyk

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jörg Danielczyk (born June 28, 1952 in Altzschillen , German Democratic Republic ) is a German designer of porcelain sculptures . He is the chief sculptor at the State Porcelain Manufactory in Meissen .

Life

Danielczyk learned from 1969 to 1973 in the state porcelain manufacturer Meissen the profession of modeller . In 1978 the manufactory accepted him into its artist group. After completing a partial course at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts from 1978 to 1983 and a direct course at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art in Halle from 1986 to 1989 , he graduated as a designer . Peter Strang's student was appointed artistic director of the design / white production department in 1994 . From 2011 until his retirement in 2018 he held the position of chief sculptor.

Danielczyk's designs range from the abstractly dissolving to the naturalistically readable. The sculptor works primarily in the figurative field, he also designs vessels, medals, trophies and murals. The carnival in Venice as well as fashion scenes , with which he became acquainted in 1998 through a collaboration with the fashion group Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld , outweigh his themes.
