The architecture by JSWD Architects

The projects that JSWD Architects work on show a broad spectrum in terms of size, focus of tasks and client. Form, functionality and materiality are particularly important to JSWD Architects in the buildings they plan. The designs are always developed based on the specifics of the respective location where the building will later be built. JSWD Architects deal very intensively with the facade as the skin of the building in all buildings . It transports the inner workings and creates a corporate architecture in buildings.

In addition, the three aspects of sustainability - ecological, economic and social - play an important role. Many of the implemented buildings were certified according to one of the various systems for classification for ecological building (e.g. DGNB , passive house standard , LEED ).

Together with the specialist planners, they perform all phases of the HOAI .

Important milestones in the portfolio of JSWD Architects are the projects Thyssenkrupp-Quartier , Essen (2011 to 2014), the House of European History , Brussels (2017) as well as the competition prize for the award of the new theater building and the renovation of the opera , Cologne (2008). In March 2016, the design by JSWD Architects for Kölnmesse 3.0 was awarded first prize by the jury.
