Jadeweg is the name of a regional hiking trail run by the Wiehengebirgsverband Weser-Ems . The path is 130 kilometers long and leads from Wilhelmshaven to Wildeshausen . The Jade Trail is named after the short river Jade , which flows into the Jade Bay , which in turn owes its name to the river.

Routing

The route begins on Virchowstrasse in Wilhelmshaven, leaves the city in its southwest and initially runs in the Friesland district immediately west of the Jade Bay. To the west of Dangast, the path bends towards the west and leaves the marshland at Zetel . The path runs through the Frisian Wehde , crosses the Jührdener Feld, a moorland , in an easterly direction and reaches the Ammerland at Spohle .

The Jadeweg approaches the Zwischenahner Meer near Gristede , two thirds of which it circled counterclockwise. He crosses Bad Zwischenahn . The hiking trail reaches Oldenburg from the west along the Leer – Oldenburg railway line .

You can get to the city center of Oldenburg on the Jadeweg roughly parallel to the Haaren . The government district on Dobben is also affected. The path leads through the Theaterwall through the palace gardens and landscaped Mühlenhunte along the Old Hunte for Küstenkanal - lock . The Jadeweg leaves the city of Oldenburg in the direction of Tungeler Marsch in the district of Oldenburg .

The path crosses the district in a south-south-westerly direction and follows the course of the Hunte approximately upstream , crossing the Wildeshauser Geest nature park . In doing so, he touches the nature reserves Barnführer Holz and Schreensmoor and Poggenpohlsmoor . Behind Gut Altona, the Jadeweg reaches the district town of Wildeshausen.

The Jadeweg is part of the European coastal long-distance hiking trail E 9 from Wilhelmshaven to Petershörn. Between Bad Zwischenahn and Oldenburg, the trail divides the route with the Ems-Hunte-Weg , a regional hiking trail also managed by the Wiehengebirgsverband. In Wildeshausen, hikers who want to go further south, seamlessly join the Pickerweg , which leads to Osnabrück .
