Jaklovce (until 1927 Slovak "Jaklovce"; German Jeckel village , Hungarian Jekelfalva ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia , with a population of 1,873 (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Gelnica , a circle of kraj Košický belongs.
geography
The municipality is located in the valley of the Hnilec River in the eastern part of the Slovak Ore Mountains . The area is mountainous, with spruce and oak forests. Part of the Ružín reservoir protrudes into the place. The center of the village is located at an altitude of 337 m nm and is located six kilometers from Gelnica and 31 kilometers from Košice .
history
Jaklovce was first mentioned in writing in 1292, when the then mayor of Göllnitz Jekul, founder of the Jekelfalussy family , received the uninhabited land through a donation. There was an iron ore mine in the village. In 1828 there are 134 houses and 982 inhabitants.
