Hrišovce (German Heri village or Hrischowetz , Hungarian Gyónfalva - until 1907 Hrisóc ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 297 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Gelnica , a circle of kraj Košický belongs.
geography
The village is located in the Hornádska kotlina basin at the southern end of the Branisko Mountains , by the Hrišovský brook . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 468 m nm and is 20 kilometers by road from Gelnica and 36 kilometers by road from Spišská Nová Ves .
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1311 as terra Janchona and in the Middle Ages it was part of the Richnava Castle estate , which belonged to the Zsigray family. In addition to agriculture and forestry, smaller iron and copper mines were operated in the Middle Ages. From 1460 to the abolition of serfdom in 1848, the families Zápolya (1460–1528), Thurzo (1528–1638) and Csáky (1638–1848) were landowners. In 1828 there are 40 houses and 292 inhabitants. Originally there was no church in the village and was dependent on the neighboring towns of Kluknava and Richnava for services . A chapel was not built until the 1830s and was later expanded into a church.
