James David Garner (born March 13, 2001 in Birkenhead ) is an English football player .

Career

society

Garner began his career at Manchester United . He played for the Manchester United U-18 team for the first time in May 2017. In September 2017, he played for the U19 team in the UEFA Youth League for the first time against FC Basel . Garner failed with his team in the round of 16 at Liverpool FC . In the 2018/19 season he took part again with United in the Youth League, where they were eliminated again in the round of 16, this time against FC Midtjylland .

In August 2018, Garner played against Fulham for the first time for the Manchester United U23 team in the Premier League 2 . In December 2018, he was in the professional squad for the first time in the UEFA Champions League against FC Valencia . In February 2019 he made his professional debut for the "Red Devils" in the Premier League when he came on for Fred on matchday 28 of the 2018/19 season against Crystal Palace in the 90th minute . This was his only season use. In March 2019, his contract was extended to June 2022.

In October 2019, he started the UEFA Europa League against FK Partizan Belgrade for the first time, before being replaced by Andreas Pereira in the 82nd minute .

National team

Garner made his debut against Portugal for the English U17 selection in November 2017 . In 2018 he also took part in the home European Championship with this . In this one failed in the semifinals on the eventual winner, the Netherlands . Garner led his team as captain in all five games.

Between September 2018 and March 2019 he played seven times for the U18 team and, like the U-17, was also the captain of the English. In October 2019 he made his debut for the U19 team against France . In the game that France won 3-1, Garner scored the Englishmen's only goal. As with the U17 and U18 teams, he also acted as captain.
