coat of arms

Blazon : "In green over a golden three-mountain, two crossed swords with golden hilt, round button and quillons and silver blade, accompanied by three golden maple leaves (1: 2)."

The symbols in the coat of arms designed by heraldist Jörg Mantzsch are based on the meaning of the name and on the history that connect the once separate places Jeber and Bergfrieden. Jeber derives its name from the old Slavic javori = maple bush or plane tree. This is all the more evident as several neighboring villages of Jeber are named after plants from Slavic. Bergfrieden, in turn, was due to the former large Landwehr or watch tower, i.e. H. was reinforced and later an old customs post. For these reasons, the maple leaves and the sword - e.g. Sometimes in connection with the heraldic Dreiberg which refers to the name - chosen as heraldic symbols. This content was implemented graphically according to the heraldic style.

flag

The flag of Jeber-Bergfrieden is yellow-green (1: 1) striped (longitudinal shape: stripes running vertically, transverse shape: stripes running horizontally) and has the coat of arms in the center.
