Jesse Tobias
Jesse Tobias (born April 1, 1972 in Austin , Texas ) is an American rock guitarist of Mexican origin.
He was guitarist for the band Mother Tongue in the early 1990s , but switched to the Red Hot Chili Peppers for a short time in 1993 , whose guitarist John Frusciante had left the band. Tobias became known as the guitarist of Alanis Morissette , with whom he went on tour in 1996. In 1996 he met the singer Angie Hart during a performance with Morissette , whom he married in 1997. The two also formed a band called Splendid, and gained some notoriety through an appearance on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer , whose musical episode, Once again, he helped with feeling to write some songs. He met Morrissey in early 2004 and has since performed in various appearances, replacing Morrissey's guitarist and co-songwriter Alain Whyte in live performances. He divorced Hart in 2005 and became a permanent member of Morrissey's band at the end of the year. He wrote half of the songs on Morrissey's album Ringleader Of The Tormentors - including the single You Have Killed Me , which reached number 3 in the British singles chart in April 2006 .
