The Getaway -

The Getaway ( German  escape ) is the eleventh studio album of the US rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers . It was released on June 17, 2016 via the Warner label.

production

The Getaway was produced by the American music producer DJ Danger Mouse . This makes it the band 's first album since Mother's Milk in 1989 that was not produced by Rick Rubin . Production of the album began in 2014, but was suspended for eight months when Flea, the band's bassist, broke his arm in a snowboard accident. After this hiatus, on the advice of producer Danger Mouse, the band abandoned the songs they had written for the album to write new ones in the studio.

Cover design

The album cover shows a girl, a bear and a raccoon walking along a footpath. In the foreground a crow is sitting on a pillar and in the background a house wall decorated with graffiti can be seen. At the bottom left of the picture are the words Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Getaway in black.

The e-zine laut.de rated The Getaway with three out of a possible five points. The editor Eberhard Dobler described it as a "very varied album". The band would sound like never before, but there was no real “overhit” on the record, even if not a single song could be described as a “total failure”.
