The Red Hot Chili Peppers is the first album from 1984 by the American rock band of the same name .
Emergence
Since the band members Hillel Slovak (guitar) and Jack Irons (drums) had decided to stay with their band What Is This for the time being, they were replaced by Cliff Martinez and Jack Sherman.
The album was produced by Andy Gill from Britain. The band chose it because the Red Hot Chili Peppers were inspired by the sound of their own band, Gang of Four - a mix of funk and punk - and were therefore expected to capture their sound appropriately. In his autobiography, Kiedis writes that he was partially dissatisfied with the result.
Others
In 2003 the album was reissued as a remastered version . This version includes the original demos as bonus tracks. These are the very first recordings of the Red Hot Chili Peppers from 1983.
