Johannes Kram
Johannes Kram (born March 19, 1967 in Trier ) is a German author , lyricist , blogger and marketing strategist .
Life
As the manager of Guildo Horn at the time, Kram was responsible for its media campaign for its participation in the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest in Birmingham . The media work carried out by Kram as a campaign is considered to be largely responsible for the hype surrounding the singer, which led it to his appearance. It is considered to be one of the best German PR campaigns of the 1990s.
In 2002, on the occasion of the countdown to the Grand Prix 2002, Kram wrote the song To Be or Not to Be for Zarah together with Guido Craveiro and Michael Holm , which reached 15th place in the preliminary round.
In his Nollendorf blog he has been writing since 2009 under the motto I have nothing against gays, but about homophobia and the role of lesbians and gays in society.
Kram was one of the founding editors of the media debate portal Vocer as well as the author and, together with the Association of Lesbian and Gay Journalists, the initiator of the Waldschlösschen appeal against homophobia in the media. The appeal was published in full by dpa as part of the discussion about an allegedly homophobic edition of the ARD program Menschen bei Maischberger . In July 2017, Kram was selected as the theme ambassador of the Diversity Charter for the subject of “Sexual Orientation and Identity”.
In 2018, his book I have nothing against gay people was published by the Berlin publisher Querverlag - The terrible nice homophobia in the middle of society , which sparked a debate about everyday homophobia . The comedians Dieter Nuhr and Jürgen von der Lippe defended themselves in the mirror against homophobia allegations that Kram had raised against them in his book.
Kram develops plays in various genres. His musical Khao San Road was premiered in 2009 in the Meistersaal at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin in the form of a scenic reading . His one-person piece Seite Eins is about the everyday machinery of modern mass media and their makers. It premiered on September 5, 2014 with the actor and comedian Ingolf Lück under the direction of Christian Schäfer at the Gütersloh Theater. There were now five different side one productions, u. a. with Ingolf Lück and Boris Aljinovic .
Kram was the head writer of the theater film Shakespeare's Last Round (2018). To mark the 200th birthday of Karl Marx was in May 2018 Trier Krams Marx! Love! Revolution! premiered, a “play to go along” that takes place in original locations. The piece also addresses the controversial discussion about the more than five meter high Karl Marx statue , which was given to the city of Trier for the Marx anniversary of the People's Republic of China .
As a freelance author, Kram primarily writes on topics from culture, society and communication. Since 2016 Kram has been writing a monthly column entitled Politically Correct! on the media-critical watch blog Bildblog .
In 2018 he was honored with the Tolerantia Award in Paris , which is given annually to personalities in five different European countries. The jury statement said: “We appreciate him for using these [his extraordinarily many talents] so consistently and over the years for the interests of LGBTI people. With his interventions, Johannes Kram succeeded in carrying the concerns of the community over into the 20th century and making them accessible to a younger (and wider) audience. "
In February 2019, Kram founded the non-partisan European initiative "Do something for Europe eV" together with Martin Schulz as chairman and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf , Franziska Brantner , Carolina Chimoy , Horand Knaupt and Vera Lisakowski . As campaign manager, he developed a large pro-European campaign together with the communications agency Scholz & Friends , which was launched on Europe Day 2019, May 9, in the Allianz Forum in Berlin.
On July 6, 2019, Johannes Kram was awarded the compass needle of the NRW gay network , one of the most important queer prizes in Germany, at the CSD reception in Cologne in front of around 800 invited guests . In her laudation, the journalist Aslı Sevindim said: “We can learn so much from him: whether he declares war on racists or discusses young people's coming-out problems. Johannes Kram always makes it clear: All of this concerns you too! If everyone is looking for the opportunity to say that they have nothing to do with it - then nothing will change or improve for anyone. ”Kram's speech with the title“ Stonewall was not an online petition! ”Was documented on queer.de.
Johannes Kram lives and works in Berlin .
