José Sá , whose full name is José Pedro Malheiro de Sá (born January 17, 1993 in Braga ), is a Portuguese football goalkeeper . He is currently under contract with Olympiacos .
Career
In the club
In his youth he played for Palmeiras Braga , Merelinense , the junior team of Benfica Lisbon and Marítimo Funchal . Since 2012 he was first used in the second team of Marítimo Funchal, at the end of May 2013 he was then appointed to the squad of the first team by coach Pedro Martins and completed a total of 16 missions for them in the following period.
On January 25, 2016, José Sá and his teammate Moussa Marega moved to FC Porto for a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros , where he received a four-and-a-half-year contract until 2020. By the end of the 2016/17 season , Sá had played 16 games for the second team and one league game for the first team.
In the national team
Sá was used at the U-20 World Cup in 2013 until they were eliminated in the round of 16 in all games. He made his debut for the U-21 team on August 6, 2013 in a friendly against Switzerland . At the U-21 European Football Championship in 2015 , he reached the final as a goalkeeper with Portugal, but it was lost 3: 4 to Sweden . Sá was then elected to the team of the tournament .
For the senior national team , he was called up for the first time for the games in June 2017 against Cyprus and Latvia and the subsequent Confederations Cup , but in the latter, Rui Patrício played the goalkeeper throughout .
