Josef Doubrava
Josef Doubrava (born April 29, 1852 in Mníšek pod Brdy ; † February 20, 1921 in Königgrätz ) was Bishop of Königgrätz .
Career
After finishing his studies in theology, Josef Doubrava was ordained a priest. Then he was chaplain in Petrovice and from 1877 administrator in Dublovice . In 1880 he became an adjunct at the theological faculty in Prague. In 1883 he obtained a doctorate in theology and became rector of the archbishop's seminary, where he taught canon law. He later became a canon of the Prague cathedral chapter , chairman of the ecclesiastical marriage court and chairman of the Association of the Archaeological Museum.
Bishop of Königgrätz
After the death of the Bishop of Königgrätzer Eduard Jan Nepomuk Brynych , Josef Doubrava was nominated as his successor on January 9, 1903. According to the papal confirmation of June 22nd. J. the episcopal ordination followed a week later .
