Julius Franz Borgias Schneller , also Franz Julius Borgias Schneller (born March 3, 1777 in Strasbourg , † May 12, 1833 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was an Austrian historian and writer.

Life

From 1791 to 1795 he studied in Freiburg im Breisgau and from 1796 to 1798 in Vienna . From 1805 he taught as a professor of world history and Austrian history at the Lyzeum Linz and from 1806 at the Lyzeum Graz, where he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate . In Graz he was also the private tutor of the musician Marie Pachler . In the same year he took over the professorship for philosophy and history at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , where he was dean several times and vice-rector in 1829, 1832 and 1833 .
