Karl Eder

Karl Eder (born September 10, 1889 , † May 1, 1961 in Graz ) was an Austrian historian .

Life

From 1909 he studied Catholic theology, history and art history ( Dr. theol. 1914, Dr. phil. 1923). He was a pastor, religion teacher and grammar school professor and in 1933 became a professor at the Linz diocesan school . In 1941 he completed his habilitation at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna and followed a call to Graz in 1948 . From 1955 he was a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). From 1951 to 1961 he was a member of the State Historical Commission for Styria .
