action

Basti Lämmle lives with his colleague Martin, both of whom are in love with their flatmate Valeska. To the army to escape, Basti wants in the patterning cheat, but his advice by the family doctor is not even read by the screening doctor. When he goes to the toilet to hand in the urine sample, he meets Schleifer, who sells false urine samples. Basti can persuade Schleifer to share his last urine sample with him. The sample comes from Schleifer's friend, who suffers from diabetes - and is pregnant! Therefore Basti and Schleifer are written appropriately. When he got home, he immediately started to write his refusal .

Three months later - Basti and Valeska are a couple - he is from the military police picked up during his Abiparty and in the basic training plugged. The reason: Basti's roommate Martin burned the refusal because he hopes to get to Valeska in this way. When he arrives at the federal government, he meets his friend Schleifer again, who keeps himself afloat with all kinds of "business" (for example, he steals the underwear worn by soldiers in order to sell it on the Internet). The two are in the same room with the quirky UFO, the spoiled Justus, the tough Turk Nefzat and Zonk, who wants to join the BND . After initial differences, the six become a strong group that should compete together against a group of US professional soldiers. The Germans traditionally lose this competition.

However, Basti wants to get out of the Bundeswehr as soon as possible. Since the subsequent refusal lasts about eight weeks, he has to come to terms with the tough company commander Major Hauptmann and the basic instructor Oberfeldwebel Keller, but in return makes life difficult for them. He wants to be on sick leave and so approaches nurse Jana. He also talks to her about his relationship with Valeska, which he still thinks is okay at this point. However, when he catches Valeska and Martin playing a bizarre erotic role-play on a weekend vacation, this relationship is over.

After Basti has returned to the barracks completely dejected , his room mates want to make him happy and organize a secret "tank party" in Major Hauptmann's tank garage together with the other recruits from the barracks. When enough alcohol has flowed, Basti, his room mates and Jana finally steal the major's private tank ("Schützenpanzer long HS 30") for a joyride. This ends with the completely drunk UFO driving the tank into a hole in the ground, where it gets stuck. While trying to free the tank, Basti accidentally fires a shot from the on-board cannon and hits the latrine of the nearby US base with the commander sitting on it. This is caught by the exploding sewer system , but remains unharmed. Since they have now involuntarily attacked a US base, they face indictment and dishonorable discharge . It is agreed that all penalties will be dropped if the German team wins the maneuver against the American team. However, in the meantime Basti's previously submitted KDV application is accepted and he could go home. However, he wants to help his room colleagues to win the competition against the Americans. With a few tricks and sometimes unconventional tactics, they overwhelm the Americans at the last second and win the competition. The charges are dropped and all pass basic training. Basti and Jana become a couple. Martin, however, deals with misrepresentation of screening revoked is, of Keller and grinder and Nefzat reflecting military police picked are in the armed forces.

production

The budget for the film was 3,250,000 euros. The soundtrack contains cover versions of Hurra, hurra, die Schule brennt ( Extrabreit ), here reinterpreted by Maggers United as Hurra, hurray, die Stube burns , as well as from Tears Don't Lie ( Michael Holm ), here performed as a parody by several actors .

Reviews

"Bundeswehr clothes on the comic level of German private broadcasters: young actors like Axel Stein, Florian Lukas or Franz Dinda play recruits in a training unit who drive their superiors crazy with tank driver jokes and dreary latrine jokes and accidentally also the flag of the American brother-in-arms Set fire. Probably only NCOs and other seriously drunk people find this funny. Director Granz Henman ('Knallharte Jungs') is allowed to step away. "

"With 'Kein Bund für's Leben', Granz Henman, who landed a huge success with 'Knallharte Jungs' in 2002, is the ultimate comedy from the Bundeswehr - including hot girls, courageous men and a great fun factor."

- Hubert Carl : kino.de

"Talent-free, on the level of cheap TV comedy shows set military clothing, which at least largely dispenses with the grip below the belt that is common in the genre."

Trivia

  • Some of the equipment used in the film has not been used by the real Bundeswehr for many years. The M16A1 weapon used in the maneuver by both the Americans and the German Armed Forces comes from the time of the previous Vietnam War and was used in newer versions when the film was made.
  • It is claimed that the character “Major Hauptmann” has no secret service in Luxembourg . This is wrong: see Service de Renseignement de l'Etat , which was renewed in 2004.
  • Sonya Kraus has a short guest appearance in the film and plays herself in it.
  • At the end of the film, Oberfeldwebel Keller wears his uniform and has rank badges for Sergeants on his shoulder.
  • The scene in which the recruits of room 54 meet the obstacle course for the first time is a parody of the film I think a moose smooches me! . The background music is also from this film.
