Kim Kristine Martin Hasson , b. Martin , (born February 28, 1986 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish ice hockey goalkeeper who was active in the Riksserien for Linköpings HC , AIK Solna and Hammarby IF , among others . She won several medals with the Swedish national team and was voted the best goalkeeper in the women's tournament at the 2006 Olympic Games . Hasson has been in the management of Linköpings HC since the end of her career in 2015.
Career
Kim Martin started her career at Hammarby IF , for whose male juniors she was in goal in the J18 Allsvenskan and J20 Superelit.
From 2002 she was used at the same time at AIK Solna and won the Swedish Championship in 2004 and the IIHF European Women Champions Cup in 2005 and 2006 .
The rights to use in a men's league secured the Malmö Redhawks , for whose male junior team she played in the 2005/06 season. At the end of the 2005/06 season she should also play in the HockeyAllsvenskan for the Redhawks. The mission failed because of the veto of the University of Minnesota Duluth , which had offered her a scholarship because only players without professional appearances are allowed in college ice hockey.
Between 2006 and 2009 she studied at the University of Minnesota Duluth and played for the UMD Bulldogs , the university's ice hockey team. With this team, she won the 2008 conference championship and the NCAA college championship .
In 2013 she married her long-time partner Jay Hasson and added his last name to hers. She also announced in the run-up to the 2014 Winter Olympics that she would end her career due to many injuries after the tournament. Ultimately, however, she completed another year for Linköpings HC and was also part of the Swedish World Cup squad again. With the LHC she was Swedish champion in 2014 and 2015.
Kim Martin has been General Manager of the LHC's women's team since retiring in 2015.
International
In 2001 Martin took part in the World Cup for the first time with the Swedish national ice hockey team. As a 15-year-old, she won the bronze medal with the national team at the 2006 Winter Olympics , with a coin toss deciding whether to play for third place .
The greatest success for Martin was winning the silver medal at the 2006 Olympic Games and being named the best goalkeeper of the 2006 tournament.
She made a total of 240 international matches for Sweden.
