Klüt is a district of Detmold in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia , which emerged from the former municipality of Dehlentrup . It is located about three kilometers north of the city center. The neighboring districts of Detmold are Barkhausen , Brokhausen , Hakedahl , Detmold-Nord , Jerxen-Orbke , Oettern-Bremke and Loßbruch in a clockwise direction . The name Klüt comes from the Lippe expression for clods of earth .

The former municipality of Dehlentrup was formed from the villages of Dehlentrup, Klüt, Klüterberg and Gut Röhrentrup and originally belonged to the Vogtei Heiden .

Farm castle on Gut Röhrentrup

Gut Röhrentrup is located in the Klueter area with a former farm castle which, unlike other farm castles , was completely surrounded by water. They can be found on the northern slope of the Mönkeberg in the headwaters of the Ötternbach, hidden between groups of trees and trees. The 19th century house and farm buildings are grouped on three sides around a courtyard. There is a pond in front of the entrance, in the middle of which the rather inconspicuous farm castle rises. Such farm castles were built in the Middle Ages to bring people, animals and supplies to safety in the event of danger. There is evidence of almost thirty of these systems in Lippe, five of which are still preserved today. This fortified farmer's castle was probably built in the 12th century. At the beginning of the 17th century, the rulers of Lippe came to an agreement in the manor house with the city of Lemgo in the Röhrentrup recess on questions of faith.

The Klüt elementary school is one of 14 elementary schools in the city of Detmold. She has about 100 children in four classes. Now the children of the open all-day school (OGS) , which started in 2007, are also accommodated there.

Since the middle of the 19th century the community Dehlentrup existed in the Lippe administrative office Detmold . In 1911 the community had a total of 575 inhabitants, including 347 in Klüt, 113 in the village of Dehlentrup, 87 in Klüterberg and 28 on Gut Röhrentrup. On January 1, 1970 the community of Dehlentrup was incorporated into the district town of Detmold. Its largest suburb, Klüt, gave the Detmold district its name that has existed since then.

In the Detmold district of Klüt, a total of 1690 citizens live on an area of 5.8 km² (August 2006). The local mayor is currently Rüdiger Preuß ( SPD ), who is also the representative on the city council .
