Loßbruch ( Low German : Lossbreoke ) is a district of Detmold in the district of Lippe , North Rhine-Westphalia , and is located about six kilometers north of the city center. The neighboring districts of Detmold are Klüt , Oettern-Bremke and Bentrup . Loßbruch is considered an early historical settlement and is mentioned in a document in 1413 as Lossebruch and in 1712 as Aufm lossen Broke . Loßbruch is closely connected to the neighboring town of Bentrup, so both places have a common sports club, TSV Bentrup-Loßbruch from 1921. The chronicle of MGV Liederkranz Bentrup-Loßbruch shows that the singing evenings before 1914 could only be held in winter, as the male residents wandered from spring to autumn to work in brickworks. That only changed with increasing industrialization in Lippe.

On January 1, 1970 Loßbruch was separated from the Lemgo district and incorporated into the district town of Detmold.

A total of 826 citizens live in Loßbruch on an area of ​​1.0 km² (August 2006). Local mayor is currently Ingrid Dannhäuser ( SPD ), the representative in the city ​​council is Rüdiger Preuß (SPD).
