The Klippmühle is a nature reserve in the town of Mansfeld in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG 0078 is 8.59  hectares . It is surrounded by the "Harz und Vorländer" conservation area. The area has been under protection since early 1938 (date of regulation: January 12, 1938). The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Mansfeld-Südharz.

The nature reserve is located west of Mansfeld in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt nature park (Mansfelder Land) . It protects a steep slope of the Wipperberg that descends towards the Wipper valley . Many cliffs on the steep slope consist of Klippmühl quartzite, for which the area is a type area . Another type of rock found in the cliffs is quartzite schist. Both types of rock are partially exposed here .

On the exposed west slope increased a lückiger dyer's broom -Eichenbuschwald with old cripple oak, rowan , birch and Scots pines . In the herbaceous layer to grow Schlängelschmiele , Genuine sheep fescue and heather . The forest is the habitat of numerous birds , including wryneck , bullfinch and goldhammer . Also Sperber , gray-headed woodpecker and black stork are found here.
