Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn (also Kritsanut Lertsattayatthorn ; * December 16, 1988 ) is a Thai snooker player .
Career
Beginnings
In May 2014 Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn reached the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup and was defeated by Iranian Ehsan Heydarinezhad 2-5 . A month later he reached the round of 16 at the IBSF 6 Red Snooker World Championship . In September 2014, he reached the semifinals of the 6-Red World Championship , an invitation tournament as part of the Snooker Main Tour . After defeating Ryan Day , Mark Davis and John Higgins , among others , he was defeated there by eventual tournament winner Stephen Maguire 2: 7. At the amateur world championship in 2014 he also reached the semi-finals and lost 5-7 against eventual world champion Yan Bingtao . At the 2015 Asian Cup, he was eliminated in the round of 16.
At the 2015 Southeast Asian Games , he and Ratchayothin Yotharuck won the silver medal in doubles after losing the final to Malaysians Moh Keen Hoo and Thor Chuan Leong . At the Amateur World Cup 2015 , Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Ben Jones from Welsh . In April 2016 he became Asian champion with a 6-2 final win against Mohammed Shehab and qualified for the following two Main Tour seasons.
Professional seasons
After failing to compete in the first four tournaments of his first professional season , he achieved his first major success in a world rankings tournament at the 2016 Shanghai Masters when he was only eliminated in the third qualifying round against Nigel Bond . A short time later he reached the round of 32 at the 6-Red World Championship 2016 and lost 3: 6 to his compatriot Akani Songsermsawad . He lost the qualification for the European Masters with 2: 4 against Allan Taylor . At the English Open , where there is no qualification, he won his first two games 4: 3 against Boonyarit Keattikun and 4: 1 against Michael White . In the round of 32 he lost 3-4 to Ricky Walden . At the International Championship he lost 6-2 in qualifying against the 2005 world champion, Shaun Murphy . His next win was in round 1 of the Northern Ireland Open , where he defeated Englishman Rory McLeod 4: 2 , then he lost just 3: 4 to Ricky Walden. At the UK Championship he lost 6-2 to Michael Holt in the first round and at the Scottish Open he lost 4-4 to Stuart Carrington , also in the first round . In the first qualifying round for the German Masters he was defeated by Mark Joyce 1: 5. In qualifying for the China Open, he was defeated by Michael White 4: 5. In the first qualifying round for the World Snooker Championship he was defeated by Stephen Maguire from Scotland 7:10. He finished the season in world number 116.
In the next season he played only one game, he lost in qualifying for the World Open with 2: 5 against Mark Selby . At the end of the season he landed on world number 121 , which was not enough for a qualification for the next season.
