State Labor Court Berlin-Brandenburg
The State Labor Court Berlin-Brandenburg is a court of labor jurisdiction and the joint state labor court of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg . With 26 chambers , it is the largest German state labor court (LAG).
Seat and District of the Court
The LAG Berlin-Brandenburg is based in Berlin. The judicial district is the entire area of the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg.

The court is located in the Magdeburger Platz 1 building in the Mitte district.
history
On April 26, 2004, the states of Berlin and Brandenburg signed the State Treaty on the establishment of joint specialized higher courts for the states of Berlin and Brandenburg . On January 1, 2007, the third of these joint courts, the LAG Berlin-Brandenburg, was established, replacing the regional labor courts of Berlin and Brandenburg .
Superordinate and subordinate courts
Like every regional labor court, only the federal labor court is superordinate to the LAG . The labor courts of Berlin , Brandenburg an der Havel , Cottbus , Eberswalde , Frankfurt (Oder) , Neuruppin and Potsdam are subordinate .

Ursula Hantl-Unthan , who previously held the office of presiding judge at the regional labor court, has been president of the Berlin-Brandenburg State Labor Court since April 25, 2014 .
Well-known decisions
In the Emmely case , the State Labor Court in 2009 confirmed the first instance decision in the case of a long-time cashier who is said to have redeemed two empties vouchers not belonging to her with a total value of 1.30 euros, according to which the termination without notice was legal. The Federal Labor Court overturned the decision on June 10, 2010 and declared the dismissal to be disproportionate.
