Brandenburg state government
The state government of 1990 after German reunification, due to the countries Introductory Act restored state of Brandenburg is the executive branch of government ( executive ). It consists of the Prime Minister and the ministers .
The Prime Minister is elected by the Brandenburg state parliament in a secret ballot . He appoints and dismisses the ministers, determines the guidelines of government policy and is responsible to the state parliament for this. The ministers implement government policy, manage the business areas ( ministries ) assigned to them and are responsible to the state parliament for their administration. The meetings of the state government are chaired by the Prime Minister in accordance with the rules of procedure . In the event of a tie, his vote is decisive.
Acting state government
Dietmar Woidke ( SPD ) was elected the third Prime Minister of the restored state of Brandenburg on August 28, 2013 . The incumbent state government has existed since November 20, 2019 as a red-black-green coalition of the parties SPD , CDU and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . The division of responsibilities of the so-called Woidke III cabinet provides for the division of the Prime Minister ( State Chancellery ) and ten specialist ministries and thus consists of eleven members:
