List of service weapons of the German security authorities

The list of service weapons of the German security authorities to an overview of the regular service weapons of the sixteen state police , the federal police , the Federal Criminal Office , the German Parliament Police , the Military Police of the Armed Forces and the local planning authorities give.

The service weapons of the former Federal Border Police including the P2 and P3 pistols are not included here.

The list is not exhaustive.

Submachine guns and assault rifles

Law enforcement service

The standard police submachine gun is the HK MP5 (cal. 9 × 19 mm ) throughout Germany . It is gradually being replaced by the HK MP7 (cal. 4.6 × 30 mm ), for example with the Baden-Württemberg police and the Brandenburg police.

The Police Berlin led in 2018 - for special forces and the three riot police departments  - assault rifles of the type SIG MCX (Cal. 5.56 × 45mm NATO ) one. The Schleswig-Holstein police also ordered this assault rifle in 2018.

The Bavarian Police upgraded in 2019 specially trained patrolman with FN SCAR from rifles.
