Lists on the subject

The HK SFP9 pistol ( HK VP9 in some markets ) is a self-loading pistol from the German weapons manufacturer Heckler & Koch in calibers 9 × 19 mm and .40 S&W (SFP40 or VP40). The type designation SFP stands for Striker Fired Pistol . The type designation makes direct reference to the functional principle of the pistol: It has a fully preloaded firing pin lock . It was originally developed to replace the HK P7 at the Bavarian Police .

construction

The HK SFP9 is a shooting blowback loader with a modified Browning locking system .

In contrast to the previous pistols with plastic grip from Heckler & Koch, the barrel is not unlocked via the spring guide rod and the slide catch lever, but via a steel frame inserted in the grip. This should guarantee a long service life for all weapon parts.

The grip is available in black and RAL 8000 (green-brown) and can be adapted to the shooter's hand using different plastic inserts.

The magazines were taken from the HK P30 pistol .

police

Germany

The SFP9 TR variant has a higher trigger weight, a longer trigger travel and a longer reset travel than the SFP9 SF variant developed for special forces. This is necessary in order to comply with the technical guideline service pistols for the police.

The weapon has been delivered to the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saxony police since the end of 2016. The SFP9 replaces the HK P7 and P7M8 at the Saxony Police and the SIG Sauer P225 (P6) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

On December 11, 2017, it became known that the Berlin police were also purchasing the SFP9 TR. This is to replace the SIG Sauer P6 pistol that has been in use there for 37 years . The first new service pistols were delivered from January 2018.

On October 10, 2018, it became known that the Berlin police had returned 1337 weapons to Heckler & Koch due to insufficient accuracy with a request for improvement

On January 12, 2018, the Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Joachim Herrmann, announced that Heckler & Koch had won the bid for the Bavarian Police with the model SFP9 TR. By 2019, the Oberndorf-based company should deliver around 40,000 SFP9 TR pistols to the Free State of Bavaria. The switch to the new HK SFP9 TR should have cost the Free State around 30 million euros; On February 13, 2020, the Ministry of the Interior in Munich announced on request that the actual costs were only around 20 million euros. The introduction began in autumn 2018.

The police forces of Lower Saxony (successor to HK P2000 ) and Brandenburg (replacement for SIG Sauer P228 ) also planned to procure the SFP9 TR from spring 2017.

Luxembourg

The Luxembourg police are also planning to equip their officers with the SFP9 for around 2 million euros, replacing the previous Smith & Wesson 686 service weapon . Delivery has been running since mid-2017.

Switzerland

HK SFP9 of the Basel-Stadt canton police

The Basel-Stadt canton police also equip their officers with the SFP9 SF. It replaces the SIG Sauer P228 there.
