Lists on the subject

The H&K SL7 is a civilian training weapon for reservists from the German manufacturer Heckler & Koch .

The self-loading rifle 7 was designed by Heckler & Koch as a training weapon for reservists in the 7.62 × 51 mm NATO caliber . It has the same locking system as the G3 rifle . This is the recoil loader developed by Ludwig Vorgrimler with a movably supported roller lock, a roller-delayed instead of a roller-locked locking system.

In contrast to the G3 rifle, however, the locking lever is on the right side of the housing and the safety device is between the trigger and the magazine. The sights with drum rear sight and front sight are technically the same, but the front sight is attached over the muzzle to increase the sight length to 655 mm. The capacity of the magazine was limited to a maximum of 10 cartridges. The polygon run should have enabled groups of five of less than 50 mm at a distance of 100 m.

As the forerunner of the HK SL8 , in Germany it was still subject to the conditions of the so-called "apparent paragraph" § 37 of the German Weapons Act , WaffG - old version before its amendment came into force on April 1, 2003 - so care was taken that the weapon did not look the same of a fully automatic rifle. For this reason, the handguard and butt were made of wood and brought into a hunting rifle-like shape with a back but without a pistol grip.

There was also a version as a hunting semi-automatic rifle, the HK 770 in .308 Winchester , which was equipped with a rifled barrel , but partly also with a polygon barrel and with a front sight instead of a ring front sight. Other available hunting versions were the HK 630 in .223 Remington (equivalent to the HK SL6 ) and HK 940 in .30-06 Springfield .
