The HK SR9 is a civil self-loading rifle from the German manufacturer Heckler & Koch .

The Sporting Rifle 9 was a civil version of the HK G3 for the American market without a permanent fire device, which is based on the HK G41 / HK 91. The weapons were assembled in the USA. They differed in appearance by a different plastic stock, which had a thumb hole instead of the pistol grip. The trigger weight of 40 N could be reduced to 15 N by using the trigger group of the HK PSG1 , which had a positive effect on the shooting performance.
The Model T had a pistol grip and trigger group of the PSG1 and the butt of the HK MSG90 . In addition to the pistol grip and trigger group, the TC model also had the piston in common with the PSG1.
With a similar designation, the SR9 must not be confused with the self-loading rifle HK SL9SD . This is a HK SL8 (civil HK G36 ) with a silencer.
