Lists on the subject

The SP89 is a semi-automatic pistol from Heckler & Koch . It is the civil version of the MP5k , which was manufactured for the US civil market in addition to the HK91, HK93, HK94, HK94k, SR9, SR9T and SR9TC civil weapons. The model abbreviation “SP” stands for “Sportpistole” or “Sporting Pistol”, the number “89” stands for the year of the market launch in 1989.

It is the counterpart to the Uzi pistol. Smaller than a normal MP5 or MP5k and capable of single-handed shooting, it was an answer to the needs of the market. The barrel was longer than the barrel, otherwise you would not have been able to grab the weapon in front of the magazine. However, only weapons without a continuous fire device are known. What is certain is that the SP89 could optionally be equipped with a wooden handle with a palm rest and the trigger group of the PSG 1 . It was also possible to mount telescopic sights. However, there was no extendable shoulder rest.
