The H&K SL6 is a civilian training weapon for reservists made by the German manufacturer Heckler & Koch in caliber 5.56 × 45 mm . In contrast to the G3 rifle , it was equipped with a wooden stock with a metal stock cap.
It is equipped with a fuse and is only set up for single fires . The movably supported roller shutter developed by Ludwig Vorgrimler ensures low-recoil shooting. For rapid assembly and disassembly of a telescopic sight Heckler & Koch provides a clamping assembly on. With appropriate ammunition, the competition rifle shoots circles of 20 to 30 mm at a distance of 100 m.
For the export market the weapon was also produced as the SL 6 A2 with flash hider and selector lever for 2-shot bursts .
There was also a version as a hunting semi-automatic rifle, the HK 630 in .223 Remington , which, however, was equipped with a rifled barrel instead of a polygon barrel and a pearl front sight instead of a ring front sight. Other available hunting versions were the HK 770 in .308 Winchester (equivalent to the HK SL7 ) and HK 940 in .30-06 Springfield .
