Lists on the subject

The HK13 is a light machine gun from the German weapons manufacturer Heckler & Koch .

The HK13 corresponds to the HK 11 in many ways , but is set up for the smaller caliber 5.56 × 45 mm NATO . Developed in the early 1970s, it was replaced by the HK13E version from 1982. Both versions were only exported and were not used in Germany.

The ammunition was supplied from rod magazines with 20 or 30 cartridges, curved magazines with 40 cartridges or double-drum magazines with 100 cartridges capacity. However, by converting the feeder it was also possible to use taped cartridges. The weapon was optimized for the M193 cartridge and had a practical rate of fire of 750 rounds / min. The line of sight was 541 mm, whereby a telescopic sight could also be mounted.

While the HK13 had a slightly curved piston, the HK13E had a stepped piston. In addition, the handguard on the HK13E extended to the flash hider and there was an additional handle in the middle of the handguard.
