List of directors, rectors and presidents of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
The list of directors, rectors and presidents of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology includes all persons who have worked at the Karlsruhe Polytechnic (1825–1885), the Technical University of Karlsruhe (1885–1967), the University of Karlsruhe (TH) (1967–2009 ) since 1825 ) or the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (since 2009) as director (1825–1895), rector (1895–2009) or president (since 2009). From 1869 to 1950 the term of office of the director / rector was usually limited to one year. With the founding of the KIT, the rector's office was abolished and replaced by a presidium consisting of two presidents, which was later reduced to one president.
From 1971 to 2009 there was also a chancellor for the central administration.
In the following list, in addition to the term of office, the chair title of the respective person is given.
