List of deities in the Asterix comics
The list of deities in the Asterix comics includes the deities mentioned in the Asterix comics. They come from various ancient cultures, such as Gauls , Romans , Greeks , Egyptians or Germanic tribes ( Normans , Vikings ). Among the deities there are also some fictional deities, such as the "pepper goddess" Peperona . The names and functions of other deities are modeled on historically handed down names and functions.
The following lists always contain the name forms and functions mentioned in the German-language Asterix volumes, the numbering of which differs from the French-language original.
Gauls
According to the Asterix volume Der Seher (Vol. XIX), the Gauls would have worshiped over 400 gods, which they sometimes numbered consecutively. Most of the Gallic deities of the Asterix village are named in this volume, only Teutates, Belenus, Belisama, Lug and Esus appear in other volumes.

Greeks
Most of the Greek deities are mentioned in the volume Asterix at the Olympic Games (Vol. XII). In Asterix near the Picts (vol. XXXV) Maia , one of the seven Pleiades , is also mentioned on page 23 . She is called the "mother of the messenger gods and the bees", the latter a humorous but unobjective allusion to Maya the bee .

Romans
Roman deities are by far the most frequently mentioned, Jupiter is next to Teutates the most mentioned god of all. The originally Greek deities Apollo and Aesculapius each appear in a Roman context. In the volume Obelix auf Kreuzfahrt (vol. XXX) the cook Nulldietus calls out: At Apicius! , which does not mean a deity, but alludes to the Roman name Apicius , which several ancient gourmets carried.
