List of Swiss tariff associations
The list of Swiss tariff networks containing in Switzerland with SBB existing stake tariff networks .
A national tariff association, known as direct traffic , has existed in Switzerland for over a hundred years . However, this is limited to regional and long-distance traffic as well as some tourist traffic. In addition, he does not have a uniform price scheme and the participation of the individual companies can be limited to individual parts of the entire network (single tickets, multi-trip tickets, season tickets, half-fare travelcard, group tickets, etc.). In an effort to also include local traffic, regional tariff associations were created that initially only covered subscriptions in the immediate vicinity of larger cities. This made it unnecessary for commuters to purchase two or three travel cards for their commute. In order to grant this advantage to other travelers as well, integral tariff associations were created, i.e. those that cover the entire range of tickets. These expanded into regional or supra-regional associations that are superimposed on the direct traffic that continues to exist.
The first integral regional tariff network in Switzerland was the Northwestern Switzerland Tariff Association , which was introduced in 1987. The first and so far only transport association is the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund , which has been operating since 1990 . The declared aim is to set up a nationwide tariff association.
