4,397,790 million people live in Oman (as of March 2016). By far the largest metropolitan area in Oman is the Muscat Capital Area with a population of over one million people. This means that around 25 percent of the country's population is concentrated in the capital region. Only 24,893 people live in Muscat proper . Largest city in Oman is Sib with 284,877 inhabitants.
