Castle 1
location
KG: Ulrichskirchen
The slightly elevated castle in the south-east of the village, accessible from the west via a heaped embankment, is a three-wing complex with hipped gable roofs and a rectangular courtyard. The oldest parts of the castle are the former corner towers in the north and south-west, which are essentially dated to the time around 1320, but were later structurally connected to the castle and are no longer recognizable as towers at first glance. The part of the former curtain wall that connects the towers has been preserved as the outer wall. The eastern wing dates from the 16th century, the chapel was built in 1626 at the latest and redesigned in Baroque style in 1713. The west wing burned down in 1620 and was no longer rebuilt.
