List of the historic town centers in North Rhine-Westphalia

The list of historical local and town centers in North Rhine-Westphalia includes those North Rhine-Westphalia cities and towns in the consortium Historic town centers in NRW and the Working Group on Historic town centers in NRW have joined forces. The Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Building, Housing and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (MWEBWV NRW) decides whether to join the working group. The working groups were founded in 1987 and 1990 respectively.

They are listed alphabetically according to the main town. Only the part of the town after the main town is historical.
