List of Portuguese ambassadors in the Philippines
The list of Portuguese ambassadors in the Philippines lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in the Philippines . The countries have had direct diplomatic relations since 1960, dating back to their first relations after the arrival of the Portuguese explorers in the early 16th century.
In 1960 accredited , the first Portuguese Ambassador to the Philippine capital Manila . Portugal's embassy there was closed in 1981, the Portuguese ambassador to South Korea was then responsible for the Philippines and was given a second accreditation in Manila . The embassy in Manila was reopened in 1996, until it was closed again in 2012. Since then, the Philippines have belonged to the administrative district of the Portuguese ambassador to Indonesia (as of 2019).
There are Portuguese honorary consulates in Manila and Cebu City .
