List of Portuguese ambassadors in Indonesia
The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Indonesia lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Indonesia . The two states have had diplomatic relations since 1949, which go back to the arrival of the Portuguese seafarers as the first Europeans in what is now Indonesia at the beginning of the 16th century. Relations were interrupted between 1965 and January 1975 ( Portuguese colonial wars ), and again between December 1975 and 1999 ( Indonesian occupation of the former Portuguese possession of East Timor ).
In 1951 , a Portuguese representative was accredited for the first time in Indonesia's capital Jakarta . The Portuguese embassy resides there today at Jalan Indramayu No. 2A, Menteng, Jakarta 10310. Portugal also has an honorary consulate on the Indonesian island of Bali .
