List of Portuguese ambassadors in Iran

The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Iran lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Iran . The countries maintain direct diplomatic relations that date back to the beginning of their first relations in 1507.

The first ambassador of Portugal was accredited in 1956 in the Iranian capital Tehran . The Portuguese representative in Turkey was double accredited there until 1972 , after which Portugal opened its own embassy in Tehran.
