List of Portuguese ambassadors in Pakistan
The list of Portuguese ambassadors in Pakistan lists the ambassadors of the Republic of Portugal in Pakistan .
In 1949, Portugal opened a permanent representation in what was then the Pakistani capital Karachi , initially a legation ( Legação de 2ª Classe ) without embassy status . In 1952 a Portuguese representative was accredited for the first time in Pakistan. In 1958 the Legation in Karachi was elevated to the status of an embassy . The Portuguese embassy has resided in the new Pakistani capital Islamabad since 1967 .
In addition to the embassy in Islamabad and its consular department, Portugal also has honorary consulates in Karachi and Lahore in Pakistan .
