Liu Jun (badminton)

Liu Jun ( Chinese  劉 軍 ; born November 9, 1968 ) is a former badminton player from the People's Republic of China .

Liu Jun participated in the 1992 Olympic Games singles competition . After a bye in the first round and he beat Pontus Jäntti from Finland in the second round . In the last sixteen he was defeated by Thomas Stuer-Lauridsen from Denmark in just three sets.

Jun was one of the favorites in the Olympic race , as he had previously won the prestigious All England against compatriot Zhao Jianhua and was also able to fight for bronze at the 1991 Badminton World Cup . In 1991 he was also successful at the Hong Kong Open and the Finnish International . In 1990 he won the Swedish Open .
