The Macau U-23 national soccer team is a selection team of soccer players from the Macau Special Administrative Region of China . It is subordinate to the Macau football association MFA and represents it internationally at the U-23 level , for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, at U-23 Asian championships and the Asian Games football tournament .
Since the Macau Olympic Committee is not recognized by the IOC , unlike the Olympic Council of Asia , Macau can take part in the Asian Games, but not the Olympic Games . The team has not yet qualified for the U-23 Asian Cup. Macau took part in the Asian Games in 2006 , but was eliminated in the preliminary round.
Eligible to play are players who have not yet reached the age of 23.
