Maja plow

Maja Pflug (born June 16, 1946 in Bad Kissingen ) is a German translator .

Life

Maja Pflug trained as a translator for Italian and English in Munich , London and Rome from 1964 to 1971 . After initially translating theoretical texts from Italian into German and a few volumes of an Italian edition of Marx - Engels from German into Italian , she has mainly worked as a translator of fiction texts since the 1980s . She lives in Rome today.

Maja Pflug is a member of the Association of German-Language Translators of Literary and Scientific Works , VdÜ. She was awarded the Premio Montecchio di Studi Italo-Tedeschi in 1987 , the Christoph Martin Wieland Translator Award in 1999 , the Jane Scatcherd Award in 2007 and the German-Italian Translator Award for her life's work in 2011 .
